핌(FIM)은 2026년 3월 14일부터 4월 18일까지 《SouthPaw》를 선보입니다. 이번 전시는 FIM의 첫 오픈콜 ‘2026 DIVE POINT’ 프로그램과 2026 서울문화재단 예술창작활동지원사업의 일환으로, 한국 작가 조은시의 회화와 설치 작업 10여점이 전시됩니다. 작가의 작업은 비대칭, 반전, 변칙의 구성을 통해 ‘정상’과 ‘비정상’의 경계를 해체하며, 감각적 차원의 사유 실험으로 확장됩니다. 이를 통해 관람자는 회화와 설치가 단순히 재현의 수단이 아니라 사유를 유도하는 장치로 작동할 수 있음을 체험하게 됩니다. 또한 《SouthPaw》는 소수적 시선과 비주류적 사고의 가치를 재조명합니다. 왼손잡이라는 개인적 감각에서 출발하지만, 이는 곧 사회가 정해놓은 ‘정통’과 ‘비정통’의 경계, 그리고 다양한 존재 방식의 가능성에 대한 질문으로 확장됩니다.
FIM is pleased to present SouthPaw from March 14 to April 18, 2026. This exhibition is part of FIM’s first open call program, “2026 DIVE POINT,” and the 2026 Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture’s Art Creation Support Project, featuring over 10 paintings and installations by Korean artist Eunsi Jo. Through compositions of asymmetry, inversion, and irregularity, the artist’s work deconstructs the boundaries between “normal” and “abnormal,” expanding into an experimental exploration of the sensory dimension. Through this, viewers experience how painting and installation can function not merely as means of representation, but as devices that induce contemplation. Furthermore, SouthPaw reexamines the value of minority perspectives and non-mainstream thinking. Although it begins with the personal experience of being left-handed, it soon expands into a questioning of the boundaries between “orthodoxy” and “heterodoxy” established by society, as well as the possibilities of diverse ways of being.
